Deck installation Newmarket ONIf you’re looking for the best deck companies in Newmarket, look no further. Our highly skilled deck builders have installed many types of decks and deck railings for homes and businesses, using wood and composite, on ground level, balcony level and everything in between.
When you call us for decking installation services, you’ll have to decide on some design options (we’ll do the heavy lifting, you do the fun stuff). Here are some common decking designs you can choose from our porch and patio builders:

Now, let’s touch on different materials for a deck install. The most popular options are: wood and composite. And among those are sub-categories like pine decks or cedar decks. If you want to think outside the box, other options are available such as fiberglass decks and concrete decks, but the majority of requests remain wood or composite. We will build and install both wooden and composite decks all day long, but our favourite is composite decking (for example Trex decking) over wood for the following reasons:
Having said that, there is something undisputedly beautiful, natural and eco-friendly about wood that no artificial material can replace. Despite the slightly higher propensity of wood to crack or splinter, there are some fixes and treatments that can prolong its longevity and appearance. And the type of wood will make a difference in durability along with the quality of the install from the decking contractors.
In some cases, our customers don't necessarily need a brand new deck build but rather have an existing deck that looks a little worn. Barring extreme cases where boards are rotting, extremely bowed or have aged to the point of looking like an eyesore and therefore need a complete deck replacement, certain scenarios require a deck repair or refinishing job. Some of this may require deck board replacements, refinishing, resealing or other methods that can prolong the life. We will help you assess the situation and give you our opinion on what will result in the most durable deck, giving you the highest bang for your buck.
Many of our customers have different decking needs so as deck and patio contractors, we get a variety of requests. Some common ones we’ve installed include:
...and many others!
A common question we get from clients is: “how much does it cost to build a 20x20 deck?”, or “how much does it cost to build a 10x16 deck?” A deck installation cost from a fence and deck company ranges as it is dependent on the materials selected (composite decking can be more expensive than treated wood, for example) and complexity of the job (a hillside deck is more involved and therefore costlier to build than a ground level deck, for instance). Your best bet would be to give us a call for a no-obligation assessment and once you’ve decided on materials and location, we can give you a better idea of what the total deck installation cost would be.
- They’re cheaper than wood
- They can last up to 30 years with proper maintenance (wood lasts an average of 15 years)
- They’re more resistant to rot and infestations
- They don’t crack or splinter like wood does (so feel free to walk on your deck barefoot)

Gazebos, pergolas, arbors, oh my!
Oftentimes, alongside or on top of decks, there can be some sort of enclosure or shading structure to complement the look and functionality of the space. So what's the difference between all the available options? Here's a general breakdown of the features:
Gazebos - these are typically the octagonal shaped roof-covered wooden (sometimes metal) structure that provides optimum shade in a yard.
Pergolas - the sides are sometimes open as opposed to gazebos, and the roof is open lattice allowing the sun to peek through.
Cabanas - often associated as a poolside enclosure, cabanas have a closed roof, three closed walls and one open (often facing the pool)
Arbors/trellises - usually a wooden structure that lines a pathway or marks the entrance of a garden or park. You'll sometimes see trellises in weddings or special occasions.

When we give gazebo and deck pricing, we will break down what the price entails. There are other things to consider before our fence and gazebo builders dig the ground. We’ll have to call Ontario One Call for locates (meaning that any infrastructure from utility companies have to be properly labeled before any deck or fence installation can occur). And sometimes, you'll need a deck railing, not just to add to the look, but for structural reasons. But no need to worry about the details as we will handle the deck install process from start to finish. That’s the advantage of having your trusted and reliable deck contractors in Newmarket to handle your deck builds or deck repairs. You’ll only have to worry about the fun steps of the deck installation journey, so you’ll be lounging on your deck in no time.

So whether you call it a porch, a patio, a deck or "the place where you hang out in the backyard with your family and friends in the summer time while you BBQ and drink beer", we'll gladly be your patio or deck builder so you can go straight to enjoying the few short months of nice Canadian weather. We're also happy to be partners with our fellow deck builder Jacksonville neighbours.
